Sherrill Mountain 3540'

On Summit of Mt Sherrill
USGS Map: Lexington
NY-NJ Trail Conference Map: #42/142
Order of Height: 31st at 3540'
Access: Via Bushwhack
Description: Sherrill, named for Colonel Eliakim Sherrill, is the westernmost of the high peaks in the Devil's Path Range. However, like its neighbor, North Dome Mountain, Sherrill has remained trail-less. There is a view east from the southern shoulder of the summit.
Sherrill is frequently climbed with North Dome. The most common route is up the long ridge from Route 42, starting at the Forest Preserve access area just north of the Greene County line. It is also accessible from the east via North Dome or from the north via Bennett Brook across private property. Be sure to sign in at the summit canister.
