Lean-to Work Days & Shelter Caretaking Workshop updated 6/11 | New Club T-Shirts for Sale

Lean-to Volunteer & Workshop

Lean-to in the CatskillsWorkshops were held on May 1st and 2nd in connection with the NYNJTC Lean-to Supervisor, Doug Senterman. On May 1st we had 10 who attended the workshop at the newly built John Robb lean-to. On May 2nd we had 4 who attended the workshop at the Bouton Shelter on Table mountain. Everyone had fun, summitted two peaks, attended the workshops and had some light refreshments at the end of the day.

As a result of these two workshops, the three vacant lean-tos in the Catskills were adopted! Thanks so much to those who attended the workshops and to those who chose to adopt a lean-to as well.

Are you still hoping to help out?

If so: Doug Senterman, Lean-to Supervisor for the NYNJTC has everything in order for this year's lean-to projects. Our main project it to replace the roof and floor of the Diamond Notch lean-to. We will also be staining the lean-to and addressing a few other small projects at the site.

The NYSDEC has provided the lumber for replacing the floor and the 3500 Club will be funding the remainder of this project. Now all we need are some willing volunteers!

We are planning on work dates of: Lean-to in the Catskills - John Robb

If you would be interested and available on either or both of these dates, please let one of us know. We will send details along as the date draws closer. For now, we just want to be sure that we will have enough help. We appreciate your interest in taking part in this project and look forward to not only hearing from several of you, but working with you as well.

Thanks again! Laurie -
